Under Canvas, In the Wild

There’s something undeniably magical about a Fly Camp…

Just the bare essentials – canvas, firelight and the stars! Named after the simple flysheet stretched above your tent for shade, our intimate, semi-luxury camps bring you closer to the wild. A Fly Camp lets the surroundings take center stage, immersing you in the environment with nature as your only distraction. The camp is low-impact and eco-friendly. Our team sets up each camp before you arrive and the camp is removed on departure. From your camp, you are invited to observe the wilderness in its most intimate and undisturbed form – quite literally through the awnings of your cozy tent!

“True luxury lies in the experience – being this close to nature, untouched and raw.”

While rustic, your stay remains comfortable. Each tent is generously sized with its own covered ‘verandah’, comfy beds with crisp cotton linen, and a private en-suite ‘al fresco’ bathroom with a flushing toilet.

  • Please review our outline of our typical menu here.

Breakfast
Start your day with a light breakfast before your morning activity. Options usually include fresh fruit, yogurt, muesli, toast, and spreads, alongside tea, coffee, or juice. After the morning safari, enjoy a cooked breakfast featuring eggs, bacon, sausages, and sometimes local specialties like maize porridge.

Lunch
Lunch is typically a relaxed affair, often served buffet-style. Expect fresh salads, sandwiches, quiches, cold meats, and fruit. It’s a chance to cool down and refuel before the afternoon activities.

Afternoon Tea
Before heading out for the afternoon activity, you’ll often enjoy tea, coffee, and light snacks such as scones, muffins, or biscuits.

Dinner
Evenings are all about gathering around a campfire or at the dining table for a multi-course meal. Menus might include hearty stews, grilled meats, roasted vegetables, and freshly baked bread. Dessert could be a fruit crumble, chocolate pudding or a local treat.
